1. CARDIO KUNG FU: Beginning on Monday, April 14, we introduced Cardio Kung Fu Aerobic Exercise Classes. Mallory Senne, the teacher, conducts a dynamic and exciting class. Initially, these one-hour classes are being offered on Mondays and Thursdays at 8:15 pm, and Wednesdays at noon.
2. SCHOOL PICTURES: May 5, 6 & 7 are school picture days. We have a professional photographer with great credentials. Just register for a time on the bulletin board.
3. SUMMER UNIFORMS: Effective Thursday, May 1, the Summer uniform season is in effect. This means that students may wear the red United Martial Arts T-Shirt in lieu of the standard uniform top. Belts are to be worn and the shirt is to be tucked in.
4. THE PICNIC WAS WONDERFUL: We were graced with the attendance of about 130 Instructors, Students, Families and Friends. The food was great and the fellowship was friendly and rewarding. Alex Bobko was the big raffle winner, going home with a $100 gift certificate for her choice of martial art supplies. Scottsdale Police Lieutenant Michael Stauffer was gracious in giving kids of all ages a tour of his police vehicle. Brad Beck, as the chef, kept everyone in burgers, and Margie Withers again kept the kids fired up with games.
5. MALL REMODELING: Our mall is still being remodeled. Thus far, the painting is done. Next, the parking lot is to be re-done. It is our intention to operate the school as normal, and conduct all classes as scheduled. Please bear with us as the center is beautified. If the parking lot is full, there is parking against the mall on the North side by the dry cleaners. If all else fails, there is always parking in the lot behind the building. Also, the old courthouse South of our mall is being demolished. We hope the dust and debris will not be a problem.
6. DONATE BLOOD - SAVE LIVES - There is an ongoing shortage of whole blood in the Phoenix area, especially during any holiday times. For any student who donates blood, just bring in your blood donor card within two weeks after the donation and earn a 1/2 hour private lesson with Master Perry. For students too young to donate, your parents may donate for you. By the way, on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, Master Perry donated his 156th pint of blood.
7. REGULAR STUDENT EVALUATIONS: Click here to see the results of the most recent Student Evaluations.
