United Martial Arts is not a "Black Belt mill".  We do not brag about how many students reach Black Belt, nor about how

quickly you can reach Black Belt.  Everyone who begins training at UMA has a goal.  They may want to take advantage of

our reputation for the finest street self-defense available anywhere, they may want to improve their health and fitness with traditional

martial arts exercise forms, they may want to improve their strength of character, or more likely, they are looking for some

combination of benefits.  In the traditions of true martial arts, and unlike so many of today's schools, our course of instruction is

extremely difficult.  And like the world's top colleges, we lose a significant number of students along the way, who decide our program

is too much for them.  Our Black Belts are knowledgeable, confident, highly proficient, and can take great pride in their accomplishment.

We are proud of the students pictured below, who earned Black Belts in August 2007.
